Coron, Palawan — Barangay Lajala public elementary school’s Tanglaw Paaralan package was given an upgrade with the turn-over yesterday of a new knowledge channel system with a sky-direct satellite dish for automated updating of K-12 educational content.
Active Palawan Bantay Dagats receive incentive
Active Bantay Dagats (sea rangers) of the municipalities of Coron, El Nido and Linapacan received their incentive from Malampaya Foundation (MFI) for their selfless dedication in guarding marine protected areas (MPA) as volunteers of the community.

Bantay Dagats receive rice incentives
Oriental Mindoro - Active bantay dagats (volunteer sea rangers) were provided sacks of rice recently in different sites of the province for being active in the management and enforcement of marine protected areas (MPAs). The provision is among conservation incentives to sea rangers in the various partner conservation communities of Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI).
Coron conservation agreements renewed, new covenant signed for Linapacan
A new conservation agreement (CA) was signed on September 17, 2018 by Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) for remote Linapacan community barangay Decabaitot, while two were renewed for the municipality of Coron on September 19, 2018 for barangays Bulalacao and Lajala.

Trial spawning of giant clams at WPU hatchery starts
Puerto Princesa, Palawan — A trial spawning of giant clam species Tridacna squamosa and Hippopus hippopus commenced on 11th of August 2018 at the Western Philippines University (WPU) hatchery located in Binduyan, Puerto Princesa facilitated by trained giant clam breeding technical staff of WPU and the Palawan State University under the supervision of experts from the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute (U.P. MSI).

El Nido, Palawan — Nearly four days of strong habagat-borne rains combined with high-tides caused severe flooding in different parts of El Nido on July 28-29, 2018, including the town center and areas close to rivers, resulting to some areas going underwater in more than one meter-deep floods.

Medical mission returns to Isla Verde
