As classes opened in the month of June, more schoolchildren were educated about basic coastal-marine ecosystem and importance of conservation in North Palawan and Oriental Mindoro public schools through information-education campaigns (IECs).
More than 2,300 were reached in the school-based interactive IECs, integral to Malampaya Foundation Inc.’s (MFI’s) marine biodiversity conservation program in its focal sites, that is regularly conducted throughout the schoolyear.

Central to the campaign since 2017 is educating coastal communities and schoolchildren that corals are animals that play an important role in the coastal and marine ecosystem.
