Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) was awarded anew a regional Gawad Kalasag award as BEST CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATION by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) of MIMAROPA at an awarding ceremony on November 8, 2018.
The recognition is part of the foundation’s work in Oriental Mindoro, Palawan and Romblon for Shoreline Communities Onwards to Resiliency (SHORE) program which aims to capacitate coastal communities in disaster preparedness and response, in partnership with local governments, communities and national agencies.
The recognition is MFI’s fifth (5th) overall Gawad Kalasag award, three of which were accorded by the RDRRMC of CALABARZON awarded in 2008, 2014 and 2015.
