Taytay, Palawan - Wives and daughters of fisher folks in the communities of Liminancong and Tumbod located in the renowned Malampaya Sound was provided with the first-of-a-series hands-on skills training in sewing in a bid to help lessen household expenses and venture into supplemental livelihood or self-employment.

A total of 54 participants from the 2 communities completed the 5-day training and received starter kits to enable them to practice the trade immediately.

The training is part of Malampaya Foundation’s Project Galing at Negosyo Dulot ay Asenso (Project GANDA), a program that capacitates women in various skills for employment, self-employment or enterprise development.
