Malampaya Foundation Inc.’s (MFI) Shoreline Communities Onwards to Resiliency (SHORE) program was awarded on May 17, 2016 a Philippine Quill Merit Award in the category of communication management in corporate social responsibility.
Launched in 2012, SHORE aims to capacitate coastline communities to become more self-sufficient in disaster/emergency preparedness and management in the event of natural and man-made calamities. Among others, it has an information education campaign component to increase awareness and understanding within communities on proper mitigation and responses during emergencies.
SHORE is implemented by MFI in partnership with local governments, Philippine Red Cross, Philippine Coast Guard and the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council.
The Philippine Quill Award is the most prestigious awards program in the field of communication in the country. Annually done for over a decade, it has given recognition to organizations, corporations and academe in the use of communication for social influence and goal achievement.
