Pola, Oriental Mindoro- A second wave of food aid to 83 active bantay dagats of Pola, Oriental Mindoro was released, c/o UC38 LLC, to support their continuing enforcement and management of marine protected areas (MPAs) in their coastal waters in the midst of the fishing ban.
A fishing ban was declared throughout the province of Oriental Mindoro on March 3, 2023 by Governor Bonz Dolor, three days after the sinking of the oil tanker from Limay, Bataan, with the municipality of Pola being the last to be lifted on July 20, 2023.
