Subic, Zambales - Some 2,500 families severely affected by torrential rains, floods and landslides brought by the recent "Habagat" were provided relief goods by volunteers from Shell Philippines Exploration, Malampaya Foundation Inc., Keppel Shipyard, Brunel, Fluor-Amec and SOS in coordination with the local government of Subic.
Habagat reportedly displaced about 19,000 families from 12 out of 16 barangays of Subic town and left many temporarily homeless. The relief bags contained food items such as rice, sardines and noodles and were distributed in barangays Aningway and Pamatawan.
