More than 600 registered fisherfolks of Naujan, Oriental Mindoro were provided food aid support yesterday by Malampaya Foundation Inc (MFI) to help bridge the effects of the oil spill from a tanker that sank within the municipality’s waters on February 28, 2023.
Apart from the spill’s pollution, the fishing ban imposed in all municipal waters of Oriental Mindoro aggravated the economic impact to fisherfolks of the province.
Each received a sack of rice and assorted processed and canned meats.
