Batangas City - A record 210 scholars graduated from Malampaya Foundation's (MFI) Bridging Employment through Skills Training (BEST) Program on October 25, 2013, a milestone that was celebrated with the Batangas City Government, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and various educational institution partners of MFI.
The BEST graduates consisted of scholars in the following: 60 piping insulation, 60 scaffolding, 60 shielded metal arc welding and 30 pipefitting, most of which hailed from the different municipalities of Batangas province.
Part of the celebration was an inspirational testimonial from a former 2011 MFI BEST scholar, Michael Bool, who shared his experience in finding work in Australia immediately after graduating from his scaffolding training, and has since been able to build his home on a 400-sq. m lot only after two years of working in the land down under.
