Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) partner communities in marine biodiversity conservation program continue conservation work such as mangrove and beach-forest planting for reforestation of denuded areas, and crown-of-thorns extraction to prevent further destruction on corals.
The conservation partner communities in north Palawan, Oriental Mindoro and Batangas City demonstrated dedication to undertaking responsibilities and tasks to ensure continued progress in the regeneration of marine ecosystems in their areas, as well as recovery of biological productivity for their own benefit and use.
The coastal communities expressed that the environment is something they heavily rely on for food, livelihood and material needs and cannot be ignored even in the midst of pestilences and lockdowns, especially at a time when their income sources have been severely affected.
