Over 2,000 youths were reached in 2016 by information education campaigns (IECs) on marine ecosystems biodiversity and conservation through school-based information outreach and youth camps conducted jointly by Malampaya Foundation and its local government and non-government partners in North Palawan, Oriental Mindoro and Batangas City.

The information campaigns and educational youth camps employ methods such as actual visits to ecosystems concerned, lectures, practicals and interactive learning sessions. The youths are likewise enjoined in their respective communities for conservation actions involving reforestation and restocking activities, clean-ups, monitoring and community-based IECs.

Imparting conservation education is an integral and essential pillar of the program targeting the younger generation with the aim of raising awareness, understanding and appreciation for the natural world.
