Conservation incentives for national park rangers of El Nido and Malampaya Sound Protected Landscape and Seascape, bantay dagats in North Palawan and Oriental Mindoro coastal communities were released by Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) as part of its conservation partnership commitment in the different areas.
The incentives are an inherent component of MFI’s marine biodiversity conservation program for rangers and community enforcers that are either volunteers or under job-order arrangement only but face grave threats in defending both national and community-managed upland and marine protected areas.
Ranging from insurances, sacks of rice, scholarships for children, safety-security gears and enterprise livelihood support, the incentives are provided to active rangers and deputized community-based enforcers to strengthen enforcement in conservation areas where MFI is in partnership with local governments, communities and related national agencies.
