Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila—Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) signed today a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Mindoro State University (MINSU) for MINSU’s inclusion in MFI’s Malampaya Sustainable Development (SD) Scholarship program for deserving university students.

The Malampaya SD scholarship program was launched in 2015 for bona fide residents of Palawan, Oriental Mindoro and Batangas with Palawan State University, Western Philippines University, Batangas State University and University of the Philippines.  The scholarship aims to support students in the fields of engineering, geology, environmental sciences and management, forestry and marine sciences to help build a pool of professionals that will work for responsible development in their localities.  The scholars are required to provide two years of return services in their home provinces after graduation.

Degrees covered for the MINSU scholarship is focused on the fields of environmental science, agriculture and fisheries to support food production and security of the province.  The MOA was signed by MINSU President Dr. Enya Marie Apostol and MFI Executive Director Karen Agabin.
