MFI signs 3 new conservation agreements in Oriental Mindoro

Calapan, Oriental Mindoro - Malampaya Foundation Inc. signed three new conservation agreements on August 26, 2015 with three new sites in Oriental Mindoro, namely, Bgy. Maasin (Bulalacao), Bgy. Tabinay (Puerto Galera) and Bgy. Pulantubig (Baco).

Signatories include the respective barangay and municipal local governments, the provincial agricultural office of Oriental Mindoro, and three community- based people’s organisations: Bgy Maasin MPA Association, Samahan ng Maliliit na Mangingisda ng Bgy Pulantubig and Tabinay Puerto Galera Sagip Kalikasan at Kabuhayan Movement.

The recent signing brings to 16 the total number of conservation covenants of MFI in Oriental Mindoro as part of its Verde Island Passage Conservation program in partnership with the provincial government of Oriental Mindoro and several coastal communities.
