Batangas City, Batangas - Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI), Philippine Red Cross and Batangas Local Government Units (city and barangay) forged an agreement for a community clinical laboratory to cater to and serve the local populace around the Malampaya Onshore Gas Plant and surrounding environs in Batangas City.
The community clinical laboratory seeks to complement the services of the existing Ambulong rural health unit and barangay health centers of adjacent communities, through the provision of select diagnostic laboratory services which include hematology, complete blood chemistry, urinalysis, fecalysis, ECG, serology, microscopy and HbA1c.
Signatories to the MOA are Batangas City Eduardo Dimacuha, Philippine Red Cross Chairman Richard Gordon, Department of Health Region 4-A Director Nestor Santiago Jr. M.D., MFI Treasurer Sebastian Quiniones and Tabangao Ambulong Barangay Chairman Jayferson Berberabe.
The clinical laboratory will be operated by the Philippine Red Cross-Batangas Chapter upon completion sometime in May 2015.
