Oriental Mindoro — Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) recently turned over to conservation partner communities Bgy. Ilag in San Teodoro (February 21, 2019) and Bgy. Agsalin in Gloria (March 13, 2019) eco-tourism enterprise infrastructures built through community-based trainings in carpentry and masonry.

The outputs are native open houses and a tourist restroom for rent to tourists that flock their picturesque seaside areas where the marine protected areas (MPAs) are likewise located.

The eco-tourism enterprise serves as conservation incentive to members of the MPA Management Council and/or partner community organization. A portion of profits from the enterprise will be used for conservation and management of the community’s MPA and coastal resources.
