El Nido, Palawan — Two conservation agreements were succesively signed in El Nido on May 26, 2016 in barangays San Fernando and Teneguiban to bind and strengthen partnerships for community-based coastal and marine resource management that utilises a comprehensive approach that include components on rehabilitation, ecological resource assessment and monitoring, social mobilisation and socio-economic improvement.

Signatories for San Fernando were El Nido municipal Mayor Edna Gacot-Lim, Department of Environment and Natural Resources Protected Area Office (PAO) Taytay CENRO Felizardo Cayatoc, Protected Area Unit El Nido-Taytay Managed Resource PAO Superintendent Larry Regondola, San Fernando Barangay Chairman Isidro Bacaltos, MFI Executive Director Karen Agabin, San Fernando Agro-Forestry Producers Cooperative Chairman Adelina Sado, San Fernando Women’s Organization President Melody Fabrigas, San Fernando Farmer’s Association President Alexander Abrina, Senior Citizen’s Association President Dina Elio and Tarabiangan Y ang Mairentek na Manig-Pangisda sa Dipnay Inc. President Darius Arzaga.
