Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro - Sixty (60) victims of supertyphoon Haiyan (Local name: Yolanda) in Barangay Balatasan, municipality of Bulalacao in Oriental Mindoro were trained in basic carpentry skills to aid in the rebuilding of community infrastructures and the victims' own homes. The municipality of Bulalacao, though not in the direct path of the super-typhoon, is one of the hardest-hit municipalities in the province but experienced much less impact than North Palawan.
The training, conducted by Technical Education Skills Development Authority-accredited instructors, included provision of carpentry tools and construction materials for the trainees' use following completion of the course and meeting required carpentry standards.
Repaired community infrastructures include a school structure and a public waiting area.
