Release of conservation incentives continuous

Province of Oriental Mindoro — Malampaya Foundation (MFI) continues to release to partner communities and organisations green income-diversification projects and marine protected area guardhouses to raise the level of conservation actions in the different program sites.

Livelihood posts were turned over to partner community organisations in Bgy Banilad, Pinamalayan and Bgy San Andres, Baco on February 2, 2017 and Bgy Ilag, San Teodoro on March 15, 2017. The small structures, built as output of building skills trainings, will be used as areas for retail trading and manufacturing of goods.

Marine protected area (MPA) guardhouses in coastal areas were turned-over in Bgy Ranzo, Pinamalayan and Bgy Sta Theresa, Gloria on February 2, 2017 and in Bgy San Andres, Baco on March 15, 2017 to barangay local governments and community organisations for use by volunteer enforcers in guarding their community-managed MPAs.
