North Palawan — Four public schools, three of which are off-grid, received from February 6-10, 2017 education-content-enhancing Knowledge Channel packages, specifically tailored for the public school K-12 program.

The endowments are incentive for community conservation partners of MFI in the municipalities of Taytay, El Nido and Linapacan that have shown active participation in direct conservation actions both with local governments and the foundation in the terrestrial and marine zones. Packages for off-grid schools include solar systems to power the multi-media equipment comprised of LCD screens and laptops.

Notable outcomes from the use of the education package in recent years are improvements in subject matter test scores and reduction in absenteeism of students as documented by Knowledge Channel Inc. and reported by schools.
